FAQ & Support
VersaTap FAQ
A few of the most common questions about our beer tap handles. If yours isn't here, email mark@legendarymakes.com — usually a same-day reply.
Will VersaTap fit my kegerator or draft tower?
Yes, almost certainly. Both VersaTap Essential and VersaTap Pro use a standard 3/8"-16 UNC brass-threaded insert — the universal US beer faucet thread spec. They fit every standard US kegerator (Kegco, EdgeStar, NewAir, Kegerator.com, Insignia), every standard draft tower, and every standard beer faucet (Perlick, Intertap, Nukatap, Krome, etc.). Outside the US or using a European-spec faucet? Email support before ordering.
How does the Essential's rotating mechanic work?
Every standard US beer faucet has a small lock collar where the tap handle threads on. The VersaTap Essential's TPU cushion is engineered to absorb rotational adjustment, so you can grab the handle, twist it 90° to the next beer style, and let go — no wrench, no tools, no fuss. Loosening the collar a quarter-turn first extends the cushion's life, but skipping that step is fine — the cushion is built to handle it.
How do I send custom artwork for the Pro?
Use the file upload field on the VersaTap Pro product page — one image per faceplate, up to 4 images. File specs: PNG or JPG, 300 DPI minimum, square aspect ratio (1:1). Transparent background preferred for logos. Production starts within 24 hours of receiving your files, and ships in 3–5 business days. We print files as submitted, so please send your best version the first time. If you have an issue with the upload, email it to support with your order number instead.
What if my artwork file has an issue?
If your file has a clear problem — low resolution, cut-off text, or a logo that won't reproduce well at this size — Mark will personally email you before starting production to sort it out. Otherwise, files print as submitted. The off-center magnetic mounts mean every faceplate goes on right-side up automatically, so you don't need to worry about orientation in your file.
Can I customize the Essential's four faceplates?
No — the Essential's four faceplates (IPA, Hazy, Lager, Stout) are factory-bonded and permanent. If you want custom names, brewery logos, or your own artwork, the VersaTap Pro is built for that. It ships with 4 fully custom swappable magnetic faceplates and the same patent-pending Serviceable Core.
Will the TPU cushion wear out?
Yes, by design. The TPU cushion is a designed wear part — like a brake pad or razor cartridge. After heavy use it eventually softens and loses grip. When that happens, drop in a fresh core from the VersaTap Serviceable Core 4-Pack ($12.99 — 4 cores + 4 TPU cushions). Tool-free, takes a minute. The patent-pending Serviceable Core means the handle outlives the consumable — keep your custom faceplates for years.
Can I order more Pro faceplates later?
Yes. Email support anytime with your additional artwork and we'll build matching magnetic faceplates that drop right onto your existing handle. Bulk pricing available for sets of 6+. The patent-pending magnetic system means new faceplates always work with the original handle — no upgrades or replacements needed.
How fast does VersaTap ship?
Essential ships from our Denver print farm in 2–3 business days. Pro ships in 3–5 business days from artwork receipt (custom production). Tracking is included on every shipment. Bulk orders for taprooms, restaurants, or corporate gifts welcome — email support for pricing.
Where is VersaTap made?
